Santosh Pant's son sets a precedence in Nepal

The youngest son of popular comedian Santosh Pant, Pratik, has changed his gender to female. According to onlinekhabar.com, the 19-year-old, who’s currently residing in Bangkok, underwent hormone replacement treatment for trans women. Because of the procedure, he now looks completely like a girl. So much so that in his first attempt, he was even denied of a visa to Bangkok by the Thai embassy in Kathmandu.

The site further says Pratik has always behaved like a girl growing up even before the treatment. He is now waiting for his sex reassignment surgery and if it turns out to be successful, he will probably be the first transgender of the country.

Offset saving account on your mortgage

Is it a good idea to have an offset saving account ?

If you have a mortgage with a bank, you will most likely also have a saving account with them. Some of these saving accounts are called offset accounts. This means, if you have some money in your offset account, you will not pay interest on the same amount in your mortgage.

for example.
your mortgage is 300,000
interest on that mortgage monthly is 10% of 300,000 . which is say 3000
Now you have 100,000 in your offset account.
interest you will pay this month is 10% of 200,000 = 2000

This is just a straight forward calculation to show you how it works. I have had an offset account with a bank and I didnt think it worked that well. I then put the money in the offset account into actual principal repayment. that worked pretty well. This leads to another discussion matter - do I repay principal or interest' . From my personal experience is that everyone should always make a principal repayment.

Are Nepali Men a good husband material ?

I dont know. I guess they are.  They are not very romantic types of Men. Nepalese men are driven more by necessity than by romance. Necessities  are Food and Shelter. Romance is not even secondary. This is typical of all 3rd world countries.

But on the other hand divorce is not very common in nepal. Most of the nepalis may not have witnessed a divorce in their families. Therefore, if they want to get married then they are most likely thinking of an ever lasting union. They will look after you and love you, thats for sure.

so the question back to you is do you want a short romance or a long term relationship?

Travelling Nepal ??

If you are travelling to Nepal, the must see cities are

1. Kathmandu for its temples. Its a crowded place, unmanaged roads and not a very clean city I must say. People like foreigners because they think foreigners are rich and may gift them with something. I always hoped that a foreigner gave me a thing or two. I almost asked a foreigner for his oakley flakjacket. Glad I didnt.

2. Pokhara for its natural beauty

3. Chitwan if you want to go for an elephant top day trip into the wilderness. Cheap hotels + tours.

4. If you have time, you should Trek  Mustang and Manang.  I am sure Ford got their car's name 'Mustang' from Mustang of Nepal. Manang and Mustang are probably some of the most rural areas in the world. Innocent people and  Clean untouched nature will definately touch you.
